Breathless Agony Recap

I thought all of you would enjoy the following recap of the ride that Bernard and Duval did yesterday.

On Saturday, Bernard and I rode the 2nd KOM ride Breathless Agony in Redlands.

We left Bernards house at 4am to drive to redlands. We started the ride around 6:25am and we the first hour we avg 17.5 mph. Then we headed up a back switchback road that was almost like a mtb ride. (Twice as bad as Yerba) then when we got to the top of “jack rabbit trail” they gave us plastic bags and then we walked around this huge mud puddle.

Where Bz still got really wet. (Bags didnt work for him 🙂

The weather was wet again and we had some rain. We climbed 4 major passes and went as high as 5800 ft. Which was the top of the 3rd pass. By this time, it was 40 degrees and BZ and I got a real fast pace coming down the mountain. (That was a very cold ride down)
The last pass was the hardest climbing back up to 5k. BZ was ahead me on this one and he got to take a 10 min nap at the rest stop while waiting for me.
The last 20 miles we got in a peleton and was avg 28 mpg. That was a lot of fun. Great way to finish.
We finished with a nice mexican lunch, bought some BA socks, and drove back.
This one was a little easier then muholland challenge. The last KOM is in 2 weeks heartbreak hundred.
